It was created in 1991 by IBERDROLA and BBVA to materialize its investing strategies in the field of promotion and industrial development. It has its main registered office located in Bilbao, Spain. The company is one of the leading Spanish industrial groups and occupies a leading position in industries, such as aeronautics, energy, communication, electronics, and engineering and information technology. The company is jointly owned by Cidessa Uno Sociedad Limitada, a holding company wholly-owned by Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA; and Iberdrola SA, a company incorporated in 1992, which is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and marketing of electricity for industrial, commercial and domestic use.
